To say this week was eventful would be an understatement! But we survived it, we are smiling and we truly see Poppa God’s hand in our lives.
Last Saturday we went to T & A’s soccer games….it sure brings back memories of watching Jamie & Brandon playing…one thing I don’t think we will ever do here in Florida is watch the boys play soccer in the snow! In fact, at last Saturday’s game we sat in the sun, moved to the shade and then back to the sun. Saturday evening we watched movies and i worked on a crochet project:
I am working on a corner-to-corner scrapghan. I think I have about 15 to 20 rows together. Not sure what I am going to do with this one but once completed it will be ready to go to a new home. It’s nice to have my mojo back and crocheting. Next up is a poncho for a gal at work and three stuffies for a friends’ kids.
Like I mentioned the other day, we attended a new church last Sunday and are looking forward to attending again tomorrow. B, the pastor’s wife saw my post on Facebook about the accident Ron had and reached out to me to make sure everyone was okay and to see if we needed any help with anything. I let her know that Ron was bruised up but our prayer was a need to get a rental car which is not an easy task when you don’t have a credit card. But Poppa God worked it out and even surprised us ~ Brandon had suggested calling National. Found out they are part of Enterprise and yes you could rent a car with a debit card ~ just be aware the deposit with a debit card if $500. I made the reservation Tuesday mid-morning and by 5:00 I had a rental car. And the best part – the gal only charged me a $100 deposit!!! Only Poppa God!!!
I stayed home from work on Tuesday and Wednesday while Ron was recuperating. It also allowed us to talk to the insurance company and tow company multiple times without feeling rushed. On Wednesday I also went to my new doctor’s appointment. Part of my medical plan was a few appointments with a specialist ~ 4 in fact! I already have the first one scheduled for this Monday!!! So glad I didn’t have to wait 5+ months like I had to last year to get to see an orthopedist. Thank you d-i-love, D, for encouraging us to switch our insurance to a PPO!!!
Thursday, Ron stayed home and rested. He was definitely sorer then he had been on Tuesday. I went to work and was able to make a dent in some of the stuff that had piled up while I was out Tuesday & Wednesday. Thursday evening, we went to C”s SR Night for basketball! Ron was able to go since he wasn’t working. Not glad he was missing work but glad he got to be a part of a special night.

Ron took Friday off as he was still quite sore while I went to work. He had a few conversations with the insurance adjuster and the company who picked up the truck ~ we are hoping to hear on Monday when we can go and get the toolbox and tools from the back of the truck as well as the payout for the truck. Right now it looks like we will get enough to pay off the truck and purchase a new to us car without having to add $$ ~ which would be nice!!!
Today we took a drive to Enterprise (which National Car Rental is a part of) and was able to extend the rental for two weeks for the price of one week ~ THANK YOU Poppa God for watching over our finances!!! The guy that helped us today, who’s name is Ron 😃, said to just give him a call if we need to extend and to bring it back early if we need to – we will get a refund for early return. Either way works for me!!!
We literally spent our whole afternoon on the computer w/the insurance agent and looking at so many cars…we are looking in the $7000 to $10,000 range and would like a SUV – there are so many out there!!! How do we decide and know which is the best one to get. If you were looking for a new to you SUV in that price range what would be your vehicle of choice?
We spent the rest of the evening watching Family Plan and Family Plan 2 before Ron found some basketball to watch.
Hope your week was a great one with no surprises. Have you seen ways Poppa God has blessed you this week?
