We left Blaine around 8:00 – our plan was for Ron to drop me off at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel around 11:00 along with our luggage. We had an uneventful trip to downtown Seattle. As we pulled up to the valet service, I asked one of the valet’s if we could park for just a few minutes while Ron helped me to get our luggage out and inside so he could take the rental car back to Sea-Tac Airport. No problem he said. We got everything into the hotel, the valet said they would just hold onto our luggage while we waited for our room to be ready.
We were definitely getting excited about our upcoming cruise especially seeing the Norwegian Bliss right across from the hotel! It was huge!!!

After checking in, kissing Ron and sending him back to the airport, I made my way into the Lounge – thank you Brandon & Danalyn for blessing us with the hotel reservation!!! It was definitely a treat and got our cruise week off to a great start!
I waited in the lounge drinking a Dr. Pepper Free and munching on Swedish fish, trail mix and a few Andes Mints. As I was finishing my snack I got a text saying our room was ready. I made my way to the lobby, got all checked in, the clerk reached out to the valet and within a minute we made our way up to our room. I texted Ron to let him know how room # and to see how he was doing. He texted back saying he was on the light rail headed back to downtown Seattle. Thank you ~ Jim & Mary for the suggestion to use the light rail ~ $1.00 and took only 45 minutes including a six-block walk.
The view from our room was wonderful.
Once Ron was back we went for a walk
along the waterfront. This is another picture of the Norwegian Bliss. The rain started again so we made our way back to our room
and took a nap. Late in the afternoon we got a call from my niece, Christi. They had just reached their hotel about a mile from us. We decided that we would wait till Sunday around noon to meet up. We were anxious to see each other but all four of us were tired from a day of traveling.
For dinner we decided to have appetizers and a glass of wine in the lounge. They had veggies & dip, some cheeses and meats w/crackers, queso w/toppings for nachos. There were also brownies and cookies for dessert. Again, we are so thankful for Brandon & Danalyn because we didn’t have to go out for dinner! Having access to the lounge is one of the perks that Brandon has access to because of all the traveling he does for work.
We decided to watch TV before turning in for the night.
Breakfast was being served from 7:00a ~ 10:30a and with checkout at 11:00 we decided to set our alarm for 7:00a. We both fell asleep with the TV on😊🤷♀️
Hope you enjoyed traveling along with us! Stay tuned for more
of our adventures to Alaska.
