Wednesday Writings

I need to toot my own horn…as I crawled out of bed at 8:15 this morning to take CharlieBoy for a walk I thought I would crawl back into bed when I got back…but by the time I got back into the trailer, checked my blood sugar ~ ugh 141 fasting ~ and I know exactly why – that darn popcorn as I went to bed!!! I know, I know, I quit eating in bed but not last night ~ that’s okay tonights a new night!! But back to tooting my own horn…I got dressed, combed my hair, fixed something cold to drink, took my morning medications and picked up my Bible, my Bible study book , grabbed a couple of my colored pens (today was pink and green) and a new devotional that was gifted to me yesterday ~ , set up the TV tray, turned on some worship music and dove in!!!

My reminders today ~

  • Jesus knows each of us intimately AND He meets us right where we are!!
  • Jesus is both with me and in me.
  • “Don’t be weighted down with problems and unresolved issues, FOR I (Jesus) am your burden bearer.”*
  • Life is not a sprint, but a marathon; pace myself, take things slowly and really listen
God tells me not to be afraid; I am never alone!
Don’t waste energy worrying; God knows what I NEED!
God is my Safety Zone!

God shares so many promises in His Word. Psalm 119 has so many promises ~ here are the ones I claim today:

God promises me salvation through His Son, Jesus ~ I just need to claim it!
Jump In! This is the time to be All in – Go For It!
God’s love never fails! He promises to always love me and comfort me!
God promises to sustain me, to keep me going, He gives me hope AND nothing can crush me!
Trust God to guide me, He won’t lead me astray!
God promises to be on my side. He promises to protect me! which leads to the question ~ don’t we always want others to be on our side, our team? Well God IS ALWAYS on my side!

The prayer from the end of Lesson 4 says “Lord give me Your strength to trust in all Your promises. Lead me to the greatest delight in You each day!”**.

I can’t explain the peace I have the past two and a half days other than that these past three mornings I have started my day with the Lord, reading his word, meditating on what speaks to me and for that peace I am thankful.

Today I am thankful for
~ the restful sleep (4 1/2 hours solid) last night
~ a husband who cares so much for me
~ the encouragement I find in God’s Word
~ a fun coffee date and another one on the calendar for next week!
