I is for Insomnia & Intentional
I is for Insomnia ~
Insomnia visited me last night.
Woke up at 3:00 a.m. Checked my blood sugar ~ it was 88, not too low which is a good thing. I have been having drops in my blood sugar the last few nights and not sure why. I have a doctor’s appointment next Tuesday so will be chatting with the doctor about that. I hope it is because I have been eating better and walking more and not something related to my medication. Well it was almost 5:30 a.m. before I finally fell back asleep. Wasn’t really worried about anything just have lots going on with preparing the campground for closure, getting our rig ready to travel, going through totes and doing the Sort & Purge Dance. A fairly common occurrence for those of us who live the nomadic lifestyle. Eliminated one complete tote!!!
Sure hope Insomnia doesn’t come back for another visit tonight.
I is for Intentional ~
If you followed me on my previous blog “Alice’s Restaurant ~ Food for Thought” you will know that I chose the word Intentional for my word of the year last year and because I wasn’t very intentional I decided I needed to focus on intentional again this year. Well so far, I haven’t been very intentional in many things. I had decided that I need to be more intentional in my quiet time with the Lord ~ I have good days and bad days with time just getting away from me so often. I really need to figure out and keep my priority of putting God first in my life really that ~ putting God first in all things.
I also want to be intentional in the use of my time. I have started turning the computer off in the evenings as I can spend 4 or 5 hours on the computer and not even realize it. Now I purposely turn it off in the evenings to work on craft projects or do stuff around our little home on wheels.
Along these lines of thinking of being intentional I am doing that with our food purchases and cooking meals. It is so easy for me to say “let’s go out to eat” when it is much cheaper and healthier to eat at home. By cooking at home I am able to save money. I remember one year when we were doing our taxes we figured out how much we spent “eating out” vs what we spent on groceries for the year. We had spent almost the same amount on both categories ~ we were amazed and flabbergasted that we had spent that much money eating out! We don’t eat out as often as had then but we do eat out way too much.
I am also trying to be intentional in sharing about God and his love for others and how he cares for us if we will just follow him.
Do you deal with insomnia? If so, what do you do to help yourself fall back asleep or do you do like me, just get up for an hour or two?
Are you intentional in how you spend your time? Your money?
Hi
I get up for a couple of hours and potter about, doesn’t really help me sleep though. I don’t tend to suffer often. Intentional, nowhere near as much as I should be, oh well.
