What a Day…

Monday was a difficult day in so many ways yet some things were accomplished so that is a good thing.

I processed 77 TEALs, now they need to be alphabetized and filed away. I enjoyed a great lunch of white rice with shrimp stir fry (leftovers from the kids)😊 The phones were pretty quiet today as I only took seven calls. Some days it’s as much as 20 – 25 calls.

Made more plans for our trip to Blaine with an evening of Bible study and fellowship with some of our Northwood family.

One of the frustrating parts of the day was processing the online check-in for our cruise. We were told that NCL would provide shuttle services to the port from the airport, but wait, they didn’t tell us it had to be on the morning of the cruise!! Spoke to two people from NCL…the second one was very helpful, the first one not so much. And it doesn’t help getting told multiple answers to the same question. Oh well, letting the frustrations go and focus on the positive we have only nine more days of work and then we get on that jet plane.

Continuing in the Psalm 23 Bible study. The next exercise was to fill in the blank…the first four words of Psalm 23 “The Lord is my….” the verse says shepherd but is that the only thing He is ~ no, there are many verses that state what God is for us ~ these are the ones I came up with.

  1. Psalm 16:5…is my chosen portion
  2. Psalm 18:2…is my rock and my fortress
  3. Psalm 27:1…is my light & salvation.
  4. Psalm 28:7…is my strength and my shield.
  5. Psalm 59:9…is my fortress.
  6. Psalm 14:6…is my refuge.
  7. Psalm 54:3…is my helper.
  8. Psalm 92:15…is my rock.
  9. Psalm 95:3…is a Great God & Great King above all else.

The next question asked “what does ‘my’ mean to me?” it means that Poppa God is mine, no one can take Him away from me, He is my salvation and nothing can separate me from Him.

I feel like my mind is bouncing off the walls…thinking of our upcoming vacation, all the “regular things” that need to be done at work: processing protocol requests, running the Indicator 11 report – it is our tracking tool to make sure all the evaluations are done within a certain amount of time. What determines that time is whether it is an initial evaluation or a re-evaluation. I also have to process the record requests that come into the district…its finding out what school does/did a student attend and then sending to the registrar of that school or the Records Management department for those records that are more than 20 years old. And then back to what I/we need to pack and how to get some of the items there…for instance the best way to take my insulin which needs to be refrigerated until ready to use ~ this is for the flight from Tampa to Seattle and then the drive to Blaine and then the following weekend the drive from Blaine back to Pier 66 before boarding the flight. Another thing I’ve been trying to figure out is what do I need to take on board with me for if/when my blood sugar drops…I usually have cans of orange juice in the fridge to drink…but we can’t take prepackaged beverages on board the ship. I know not the hardest things to figure out but still are things that need to be figured out.

Oh my goodness, where has the time gone…it’s time to get ready for work. Wishing each of you a great day today!!!

  1. Thank you for this today. I really needed the “The Lord is my…” list. Great reminders that He’s got me.

Is your insulin vials or pens? I recently came across some containers for people who travel for keeping their meds cold.

Looks like we are going to be without a big fridge for the foreseeable future. They are hoping they will be able to come out next Monday to fix is but they cannot guarantee that. I am SO thankful that God provided the small, dorm, fridge on Marketplace! At least we can keep eggs and milk cold. I just have to be mindful of what I cook because there is no room for leftovers in there.

When things get frustrating just keep saying, “I’m going on a cruise!!!”

I can’t wait to give you a real, live, hug (or five or twelve).

  2. I’m glad I was able to help you even from a distance. And yes, can’t wait for lots of hugs & a few coffee dates!!!

Was wondering if you and Tim would like to do dinner on Sunday evening, if you are feeling up to it? I was thinking Paso so no one had to cook or clean…I would love for all four of us to have a time to just hang together.

Insulin is pens, but need to be refrigerated or used within 30 days of one day not refrigerated.

Glad you have the dorm fridge…just pretend you are in our camper – think small!!! Love you sister!!! See you in 11 days or so!!!
