As I have shared, one of the Bible studies I am participating in is I Thessalonians. It is a six week study and each week we study one chapter from the book. This past week our study was I Thessalonians chapter one.
Listed below are the points that resonated with me.
~ How important it is to give thanks every day
~ No matter what I have done in the past as long as I have put claimed Christ as my personal Savior he can change me from the past to a new person.
~ By starting and continually giving thanks to God keeps our focus on God and what is good.
~ God has chosen me, for me; just the way I am with all my foibles and negativity and that I need to keep my faith strong in Him, and that His love never changes, no matter what I have done.
~ People shared of the love of Jesus just as Paul & Silas did – even though persecuted, they kept sharing.
~ Idol worship is anything that I allow to get between me and Christ.
~ Remember who God is ~ He is all powerful, He provides always!
~ Life can be hard and may get harder during tribulation but we need to remember to stay close to Him, to endure, To Keep On Keeping On~
~ To be aware of what I say and do AS people are always watching
~ My every moment should be living in a way that is pleasing to God.
~ Ask myself “if God were to return right this moment would I be embarrassed to have Jesus standing right next to me?
~ Be comforted to know that Jesus is coming back for me.
~ Don’t be passive; stay alert, self-controlled and calm.
~ Keep in control of my thoughts! Awfullizing is not pleasing to God!
~ Seek God before man
~ See the good in people
~ Be thankful in all circumstances
~ Be consistent and persistent in prayer
During my study I came across Romans 8:25

and then the phrase
Patience is not the ability to wait BUT how I act while waiting!
I am excited to continue to see how the Lord leads me through this study and how I build my relationship with Him each and every day. Today I am encouraged and I hope you are too!
